chipping the 03' cobra

Hey everybody,

I just put a Superchip 1100 into my 03' cobra, and let me tell you, what a difference! I don't know if it's just me but coming out of the box the cobra was exciting, but you could just tell that the thing had soooo much more to offer. Maybe you guys have allready hooked up all your mods, but this is my first one, and boy am I impressed. Out of the box my cobra didn't have much acceleration down low, or off the line, when you really hit it, it would just kind of wind up, until you hit about thirty five hundred rpm, and than BAM the thing took off. I was looking around trying to find a way to give me a little bit more off the line when I saw the superchip web site. I've never chipped any of my cars, so I'd figuire I'd give it a shot. I just hooked it up and took it for my first spin and wow am I stoked. I'll have it dyno'd in the next couple of days to see how much of a gain I got, but it REALLY helped to even out the acceleration throughout each gear. Not to mention getting rid of that pesky rev limiter, so if there are any other guys like me out there with stock cobras looking for a little bit more, try the chip, you'll dig it, and to all of you out there who allready have their rides all geared up, what's working the best for you? Anyone running any different pipes? And if so, what type? I'm checking out all the big manufacturers web sites, but I can't find anything about the 03's in there, probably just too new. And just one other thing, with the dual over head cam situation in the 03's, shouldn't we have a much higher red line than anything else out there, or am I thinking wrong? Thanks before hand for any replies.

your way stoked driving buddy,

Chris

Seems to me, the biggest bang for the buck is a Cold air induction, or just an open conical K&N filter. Looks like most cars are getting 10-15 rwhp from it. Also, lightning pulley, x or h-pipe and an after cat exhaust. Pair it up with a dyno tuned chip and they're pumping out 450+rwhp. Very impressive indeed.

Those cars are choking, open up the exhaust and the air intake and watch the horsepower fly!

I bought the chip from superchips.com. It ran me about $250 and the guy charged me thirty bucks to instal it. It's worked out pretty well, and the guy was way cool about showing me how to get to it. Now all I have to do is find some new exhaust and help the intake a little and I'll be ready for that brand spankin' new Lightning pulley.

You probably already know, but make sure you get the chip re-burned to include the exhaust and pulley.
