t45 or tremec 3650

do the 2001 cobra's have the t45 or the tremec 3650 tranny? I ask because I went to a pro 5.0 shop and was looking at the pro 5.0 shifter for my car but the guy insisted I have the tremec 3650 and not the t45. I didn't know for sure, but assumed it has the t45. does anyone know? thanks

If it's the original tranny it's a 3650!

T45 has a drain plug on the side of the trans.
3650 has a drain plug on the bottom of the trans.

Didn't some of the early cobra's come with T45's, or was it only the early GT's?

My 01 (#1913) has a 3650.

From what I've heard about the t-45's yes that's a good thing!! Brian I think all Cobra's in '01 got the 3650 mine is like #517 so if any did get the t-45 it would have had to be VERY early in the run!!

I do not know what the 99's have for a tranny, but I did call svt and they told me all 2001's have the tremec 3650. I installed the pro 5.0 shifter today and what a difference! I haven't been able to road test it yet, but practice shifting in the garage I could feel the benefits already!
oh and Hi Bonny
