Ever seen an oil cooler pop or how my day at CMP went.

I really like CMP. I feel like I was learning fast and had a couple people say I was doing good for first trip out and on street tires. Next thing I know smoke everywhere. Stupid oil cooler blowing everywhere. I ended up borrowing trailer space and had to drive a friends Viper GTS back to Raleigh (I stole the Vipers trailer space). I had the best and worst experience ever today.

Well that's great you were having fun until the oil cooler blew and it sucks that your oil cooler blew! Shame you had to drive a VIPER back to Raleigh! And YES I know what it's like to have an oil cooler blow but when mine went I went off track and smacked a tire wall! So things could have been worse!

Things certainly could have gone worse. I just hope I got the car turned off fast enough not to damage anything. I will say this about the guys from the viper club they are a great bunch of people. I think everyone came by during cleanup to check on things and see how it was going. Driving the GTS back was a little awkward. It turns out I am the 3rd person to drive the car ever. Wow smacking the tire wall would have sucked I got lucky it happened in a slow section and not a straight. My tires were soaked in oil (along with everything else). I am a little bummed right now and have to find an oil cooler quick or at least get my BMWs brakes fixed so I can get to work Tuesday.

Call Kenny Brown they usually have them in stock and if you're an SCMC member you get a 15% discount on their parts. Sorry to hear about the problems though!

I think I am going to check with Carolina Mustang first since they are right down the street from work. Thanks for listening to me vent a little. The only thing I am worried about is if I cooked a bearing.

Good luck getting the cooler back on and I hope there isn't any major damage inside! I was lucky mine was a slow leak so I didn't do any damage to my engine!
