the steeda is a fixed rate spring versus a progressive rate, like the eibach. so as far as ride 'quality' goes, best bet is the eibachs. the steeda race spring is progressive, but at the 850-1050 rate, ride quality is going to drop, severely.

heh heh, which reminds me, i've got a set of eibachs coming out of the car in about a month......

please,
just make sure you talk to the professionals !!

We had Eibachs and Steeda's.

The Eibachs were good, the Steeda's I'm sorry to say, we had a very bad experience with. Just be careful to do all the research that you possibly can.

We now have Kenny Brown suspension on both of our Cobra's and are very pleased..

When you make the final decision, and make the change, it should feel right to you. If it doesn't - complain, ask questions, do whatever you can to make it right!

Congrats on the new car!

I concur that the Steeda springs are a harsher street ride, work well on the track, have them on my 98. The Steeda parts I have are high quality and fit well. I am not sure what problem Winddysvt had with Steeda.

You might want to read the "Suspension Mods" topic in this forum, depending on what you want to accomplish. I bought the Steeda full suspension for my 98 before I knew about SCMC. Only real complaint is street ride quality, but street time is limited on that car.

I am going to do full coil overs on the 03 once I get up the enthusiasm to start removing parts, I just drove it to VA, 500 mile round trip, loved the ride, smoked a vette, had fun. It is a very good factory setup on the car. It also will perform well on the track in stock condition, but I too wish it had a little lower stance.

The folks in this forum will help, so will Maximum Motorsports, Kenny Brown, and others. I would advise to talk to as many people as you can prior to purchase. SN8kbit is doing the same research and/or mods I am going to do, coil overs.

Good luck, keep us posted as to what you do and how you like it.

Re: Re: lowering springs

--------------

Many on this forum know the trouble that we had with Steeda, and many have had similiar problems -
so, beware! It's one thing having a problem with a product, but its another when the Co. does not stand behind it, or help you with it. These springs were so called highly recommended by many.... we should've done some better research before putting them on my "baby"....

our ride quality was absolutely 150% horrible with the Steeda's... sorry - but it was like the Beverly Hillbilly's truck.....

we found out later that the springs were either defective - - or the wrong springs placed under the wrong part #. Thus giving us the right part #, but wrong springs.....

These springs did damage to my car .... long and frustrating story.. -- fortunately, we figured it out right away and took them off before they did any more damage - replacing them with the KB's.

Steeda gave us 6 months worth of trouble with getting the money back from these springs, and never a positive explanation or apology from what happened. They were very rude to me.... I never bad mouth anyone unless they treat me like they did... We have our own company --- you don't treat your customers the way they treated me and many others....

Sorry Steeda - but you guys owed me at least an apology..... that would've made a world of difference....

The ride with KB is like driving a $50 BMW.

The difference is night and day.

Just beware ---
