Best Clutch Replacement ?????

Well seeing as my factory clutch has about 72k miles on it. I'm going to go ahead and start planning ahead for a new one relatively soon. My question is what would the better clutch to replace mine with?

I've heard that the King Cobras don't really last long and I"m not really fond of the hard clutch feel. I have heard good things about the SPEC Stage II but I've never driven a stang with one so I'm not sure about the feel.

Price is definately a concern seeing as I'm in school so I can't afford the most expensive. Any suggestions on what I should go with???

I have 71,000K on the clock and my clutch went out a couple weeks ago. I went with the FMS 11" HD upgrade which is what the 03's are using i think. I am very pleased with the upgrade, it grabs a lot better than the stock 98 did. I can light up the tires in 2nd from a dead stop The upgraded clutch kit costs $249.00 at Fairway Ford in CA. I added the adjustable clutch cable for $49.00 also. Ford claims 10% more grab with the 11" inch over the 10.5" KingCobra. Hope this helps. -Rob

Snake98: The 11 inch FMS HD clutch will work with the stock 98 flywheel?

To White98SVT: I have a new King Cobra kit that will probably never get used? If I swap clutch, I am going to put in a new lighter flywheel as well. If you are coming to any SCMC events this spring I will bring it. Don't even know how much I paid, but you can have it cheap if you want. I am going to Jackson, CMP and AutoFair this spring.

Pro Dyno tuned
Dyno graph sucked out the window on test drive, but you can't read the graph when your head is pinned to the seat anyway. Very happy!

I would really appreciate that man. I am coming to the Jackson drag event but unfortunately will not be running simply because my clutch is about to go pretty soon I think.

If you don't mind, e-mail me how much you want for it and also the specifics on the clutch to make sure it's the one I need. Thanks a ton !

I have the king cobra clutch in my 96 and really like it so far. I had in all last summer and held good. The pedal feel was not as hard as the stock on in my opinion. My motor is stock except for pulles & exhaust.
