03 Cobra Power

Hi- new to the group. We had our car dyno yesterday. It was 352.4 hp and 362.9 torque. After we had the catback & air filter put on it ran 389.5 and 367.7 torque. The shop where we had the work done said SVT doesn't recommend the shield for the air filter. Any ideas? Should we purchase the shield? It has 200 miles on it. Is this good? What should we expect? Also, we are having a spring loaded shifter put on in 2 weeks. They had a hard time finding one. We are doing this for drag racing. Any other suggestions for hp (not interfereing w/warranty)? Thanks, I am a mom so bear w/me I am trying to learn technical names, etc.

hhhmmm, I'm not sure about what you are calling the sheild?

The warranty issue is vague. It is up to the dealer to decide whether or not to fight if something breaks. So if you have a good relationship with your dealer and he is mod friendly, you can get away with quite a bit.

Cobra Shield

The shield goes w/the cold air filter. We didn't put it on. Should we?

Yes, you should put it on to sheild the hot air in the engine compartment from getting into the filter.

What about the horsepower? Was this good for first run? After mod run?

It looks like your cobra is a few ponies shy of what others are running that I've seen. Not much though.

My friend (also a scmc member) Sujit's black '03 cobra coupe put down 382/378 in bone stock from with 12xx miles on it. That's the only one I saw run in person on a dyno. It made 393/387 with no air filter. Definately a wild ride!!

Hey Lisa--don't know the name--invoice says open element air filter ($160.00). Any suggestions on horsepower?

Could our dyno results be wrong? I was quite disappointed. Attached a copy of them.

are YOU happy with the power you feel now? break her in, varying opinions here on the 'best' way to do that, i have heard, not just from glen, but from others that hp increases after break in period (as does fuel mileage, as if that really matters ) enjoy it, knowing that you have you are faster than 95% of the cars out there, and those that are cost way more$$$$ than ours does!!
