New Tranny

I'm bouncing the idea around about putting a new tranny in my '98. I was leaning towards the TKO but then started reading about the TR3650. Aparently this is supposed to be a drop in replacement for my current POS T-45. Anyone know anything about this trany?

Mike

The 3650 is what came in the 01 Cobra's and from what I have seen and read it doesn't seem like it is much better than the old tranny's. They are having problems bending shifting forks from hard shifting, which a aftermarket shifter may or may not cure.
My 01 has 3500 miles and I have a noise coming from mine already, not 100% sure whether it's the tranny or in the clutch, but I think it is the tranny.
Others may have more expertise than I, but I think I would lean twards the TKO. (not knowing the price difference)

I've got the TKO in mine. It definately feels solid. I don't powershift my car, so I don't know how well it'd hold up. It seems to be doing fine on my car so far, but I haven't really abused it either.

I'm not sure if you need a shifter or not, but I believe you do. I never tried to put the old one on it.
