Autox update...

Today was my first autox with R compounds...and let's just say they kick royal butt!! I could not believe the amount of stick from the Victoracers...evethough Dan (Schlick) probably won't see this, I owe him a BIG thanks for working me a deal on wheels and tires. Now on to the action...

Previously I had been anywhere from 2.5 to 4.5 seconds off of the Vette, depending on the day and the course layout...today I was "unofficially" able to get within 1 second of his time!! I say unofficially because the timing system broke after my 2nd run of 5...so we went to stopwatches...not very accurate at all but better than nothing. I was very pleased with the tires and can not wait to get another opportunity to take the Vette down. I am confident that a few more times on the R compounds will help me get the most out of them and hopefully put me ahead of the Vette, the car that consistently has FTD.

Eventhough I did not take the Vette down, I was able to score a class win (SM) and further build on my points lead.

Tom, you really have to try an autox with the Focus with the sticky tires on it!! You'd have fun!!

Sounds like fun. The vette is toast!

It is quite tempting. But, I think the Focus will be gone in a few weeks. I'll have to wait and see what replaces it...

Did you sell the wheels (with R's) with the car?

Glad to hear you are having a good transition to R tires. Keep us updated and get that vette.

No, I still have the wheels and tires. I actually haven't sold the car yet, but I have a few interested buyers.

Yes I did feel the difference with the rear half of the cage. It made the car MUCH stiffer, and also allowed me to put my harnesses in, which help to hold me in place during the autox runs. I get thrown around a lot with the stock seatbelt, so the cage and harnesses were a welcome addition to the car! I love the extra g forces the R compounds produce as well...felt like I was really haul'n yesterday!! Can't wait to try them out on track.

I need a "cage by Pearson" sticker for the car...as well as a Banana Motorsports sticker...so everyone that keeps asking me will know where the awesome cage came from!!
