I'm kind of partial to Royal Purple, but you'll get answers everywhere from Motorcraft to stuff you've never heard of with this question. Choose what fits your driving habits, needs and pocketbook. Most all of the modern fluids that meet recommended specifications are acceptable.

This may be late, but I'd tend to agree.

My advice is that whatever you choose, go synthetic. You'll pay more, no doubt, but synthetic is alot cleaner. My Mustang 5.0 has 100K on it, it's been on the Autobahn, and if you look under the oil cap, it looks like a freshly minted quarter. Personally, I use Amsoil, but I'm sure you'd get the same results out of Mobil 1 or some other comparable synthetic.

Hope this is useful.

What makes it better? Less cost, better lubrication, cleaner, heat reduction?

Steve, I conducted some research and Redline sent some empirical data to support their claims. I'm trying to get ahold of their independent testor to verify the finding (I haven't gone this far with Amsoil). Once I gather the facts, I'll present what I've found to Amsoil technical support. If they cannot refute the evidence, I'll switch.
