cobra hood on 03 v6??

I have recently seen 3 late model v6's (03's?) with what looks to be the cobra hood from 99 and 01. Are they now using that hood on the v6 or is this just 3 people who have the same mod that I just happened to see in the same week? Thanks.

They are using the 99-01 hoods on the '03 V6's. I dont' think they all come like that, it's an option I believe.

Thanks for clearing that up. Although, I can't say I'm terribly happy about that move. It's one less unique identifier for the Cobra.

I'm pretty sure all V6s get the 99-01 Cobra hood. You should check out the 03 GTs as well, you might see some familiar wheels from the 01 Cobras.

~sigh~

Nothing like the "exclusivity" of certain Cobra features.....

Yea, I have to say that's pretty bad on Ford's part. I saw that last year when cruising thru the Ford Lot. All 03 V6's get a 99-01 standard cobra hood. The "Pony Pkg." for the V6 also comes with a GT Hoodscoop, chrome wheels and some other features.

The GT picked up the chrome 01 wheels but with a different center cap. Nothing like Ford trying to use up the leftover parts bins.

Other ironic points:
The '99 and '00 special edition pkg GT's had a special hood scoop, which in '01 became a standard option.

The standard GT wheel of '99 and '00 became the "Lower model" GT wheel for '01 when they introduced the Bullett style wheels.

99 Cobras got a rear bumper that read "Mustang" but changed their mind in '01 to give them "Cobra" on the bumper. Why in the world did they give it Mustang in the first place. It was a no brainer that previous years always said Cobra.

I dont know. My 99 says mustang on the back and I like it. I might even take those snaggle tooth worms off the side and put those little lx ponys on them. I like them little ponies. Get along lil doggies.

Talking

Harry,

I think you have a good idea. Put the V6 pony emblem on the side of your fenders, take off the SVT badge on the back and put the V6 wheels on your snake. Then when someone comes up to run you, just make them think it is a 6 cylinder and surprise them.
