Q: gas tank/fuel pump replacement

Anyone know what are the specs on the 2003 fuel pump?

With a stock engined '99 Cobra, will a bigger fuel pump require any other changes or can a bigger pump like a 255 lph Walbro be dropped in place of the stock pump without any other adjustments?

The reason for the question is... a buddy accidentally backed the car over a curb and the gas tank is dented in.

Is there any benefit to replacing it with a 2003 tank as opposed to a stock 1999 tank? How about upgrading the fuel pump in eventual consideration of a Vortech supercharger when I replace the tank? Though the blower is probably 18-36 months down the road.

Any other thoughts or advice y'all could offer for this situation? TIA.

The '03 tank is baffled so it is an improvement over the pre '03 tanks. While you're at it the '03 fuel pump is much better also so if you're going with a Blower in the future then it would be a good investment also.

Yah, '03 tank and '03 pump...

Except from my limited research to date the 255 lpr Walbro pump is only about 40% the cost of an '03 pump assembly.

MRT - Mustang Racing Technologies is selling the 03 Cobra tank with two fuel pumps that are supposedly rated for up to 600 hp. Article in 5.0. MRT has lots of new cool kits that are great for our late model Mustangs.
