I have not yet decided whether to get an alarm/security system for my 2003 cobra convertable. Is it really necessary to get given that stock, doesn't one need the computerized key in order to start the engine?
Thanks for your input. |

I have always felt like if someone really wanted to steal my car, they could. I just hope I don't get it back!

I also ride a 03 torch red vert. I purchased an alarm with a proximity detector. This is not to keep the car from getting stolen, as I agree with all the comments above. I purchased this primarily because I often leave my top down, and this provides some protection for interior contents. Also, I am more worried about someone cutting the top and snatching something.
Also I figure that the alarm can pay for itself in insurance savings in about 4 years.
