new member to the site

Found this site, so, hi all.
My run down, I live in southern Maryland. I have owned 5 different Mustangs, my first car was a Mustang and currently own a red 94 Mustang Cobra.
I enjoy running the 1/4 mile but would really like to due a road course event. I know that there is a road course track I believe in southern VA area, I don't remember the name, just remember watching an event on SpeedVision. If anyone knows of another track or road course event, can you pass on any info on thanks.

Hi ! Welcome. Just thought you would like to know that the track in southern VA is called VIR. Virginia International Raceway. It is a 3.27 mile road course with one of the longest straight aways on the east coast. It about a 15 or 20 minute drive from Danville reg. airport, if you are going towards South Boston VA. It is right on the VA - NC Line, right outside of milton NC. I live in Eden NC and I am about a thirty to forty minute drive ( a little over the speed limit ) from the track, as I know a series of back roads I have mapped out. If you need any info on the track, go www.virclub.com and it will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck and welcome to the forum!!!

Lots of Cobras and Mustangs were at VIR this past weekend during the big track event. Grand AM/Rolex cars were there......what an experience, to see them at nearly 200 MPH down the long straight.

Here's web link showing you where the tracks are.

Look on our SCMC web site for upcoming events.
