Transmission Question
Brand new owner. P/U my Cobra day before Thanksgiving. Traded in a modded 03 Mach1 (Full Bassani, 4:10's, Nittos, wheels, etc. etc) Next step was the procharger. Got skidish on the warranty and decided to use the money on the Cobra. MACH was good, Cobra is by far a better machine. No problems so far. Got a question about the transmission. 1-5 are fine - smooth. When I go to 6th on the hwy - 70+, it sounds like I am in 4th at 10 mph. Performance seems OK, just sounds bad. Problem or normal? First 6 speed.

If you are "lugging" then I'd say that was pretty much normal. I cannot remember the final drive ratio on the 6th gear but you would probably feel like it was free wheeling...
If you have any doubt at all though, take it to the dealer for warranty repair. |

Tranny Noises?
I wouldn't worry about it now. It's a brand new transmission and will likely make some noise the first few hundred miles.
The sixth gear is pretty easy at 70-ish MPH. I'd only use it then for saving gas. Otherwise, save sixth for 90+ MPH. |

When I first got my 03 cobra it made noise in sixth, I took it in and there was a problem with the syncroniser. they fixed it and it has been better ever since. Have fun with it I know I have with mine
