Goodyear F1 GS-D3

hey, what do you guys think of the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's. Does anyone have them? better suggestions for tires?overall reviews? and how long did it take you guys to wear out the tires on your 03 cobras? I've heard of people wearing them out in 7K, i'm close to 20, and they're getting pretty bad.

Go to Tirerack.com. Search for the tire of choice and there are hundreds of reviews of all the big name/model tires; including the GS-D3s. They are rated pretty damn well.

I just bought some Bridgestone Potenza PolePositon S-03s. Again, lots of reviews; many of which are on Mustang Cobras.

The F1 GS-D3 are the best all-around tire i've run so far. I switched to Bridgestone KDWS this fall, they were ok...gave up to much dry traction for my liking.

I am now running a pair of Nitto 315/35 DRs on the back stock rims and the grip is great. All tires last less than 10k miles for me. I only shop at TireRack or DiscountTireDirect and have had good experiences at both.

I really like the F1 GS D3s. I only have them on my fronts so far [actually snow tires on now. GS D3s put away until spring] since I am using up the F1s on the rears. In wet driving, the GS D3s are far superior to the original F1s.

Bridgestone doesn't make the KD series, that's BFGoodrich.

The Bridgestone S03s and the Bridgestone Potenza RE 750 are both very good and highly rated. The S03 doesn't come in my size - 275/40-17. I run the RE750. Got them from tire rack. Others like the Firestone SZ50. They are as good and cost about the same. the SZ50 and the RE 750 seem to be the two most highly rated in the bang for the buck category. Great traction dry and wet, great wear, good price.

How can you run the 315's on the 9" rims? They recommend a 11". I see some run them on 10.5 AFS wheels, but on a 9" they may have a strange contact patch.

From what I understand, Nitto 315s are the only brand 315s that will fit the stock rims (sized more like 285s). Tires feel fine and don't look the least bit ghettofabluous. I'll post some pics soon.

Thanks, That may be a cheap way to go. I may look into the new Mickey Thompson Drag Radials also.

I had the F1 GS-D3s on my Formula and loved them. They are great tires. My Cobra tires are only one day old now

but I'll be putting the GS-D3s on when they wear out.

EDIT: Just looked at Yellow03's photos, now I think I'll go for 315 Nittos on the back.

Only downside to the Nittos is that (after some wear) they get a little scary in the rain.

Yellow03~ I can believe that. Although Nitto makes a good tire (especially price wise), Goodyear has certainly won me over. When my tires arwe finished (have ~5,000 currently) I'll replace them with a new set. Nice pics by the way!
