Magnaflow vs Flowmaster

Ok I have seen numerous posts here recommending the Magnaflow Cat-Back...

How does Flowmaster rate with Magnaflow?

When I looked into getting a new sound with my '95 GT, Midas (cue laughter) recommended Flowmaster, but wanted like $900.00 to install it, so I decided that was too much and the car sounded just fine

Anyway, not impressed with the stock sound of the '03 Cobra, need something that sounds like it looks...

Suggestions from the experts is requested...Thx...

For what it is worth... I installed a Steeda Cat Back exhaust with the Hi-Flo Catalytic X-pipe. Total cost, less shipping was 1K. You may be able to get the exhaust for cheaper but I am thrilled with the sound quality. I am very picky with exhaust sound and this one is tops.

I did the work myself when the car had 3k miles on it. I had access to a car lift which made a big difference. It took me about three hours with a friends help. The only really hard part was one stubborn bolt connecting the old Cat pipes to the exhaust manifold. On the passenger side of the car the starter is in the way. I fought it out and won the battle using an impact wrench and two swivel joint attachments. It was pretty difficult. It was really hard to get a good grip. Use penetrating oil and patience. It may pay off to have brand new nuts for your reinstall since mine rounded quite a bit. Otherwise it is very easy.

The sound is a bit loudat 2k RPM but when you go through the gears it is SWEET!!!! It is a performance sound and not the nasty "please fix your muffler sound"

GOOD LUCK!!!!

I went with the Magna Flows & love the way it sounds now & also the $355 (with shipping) price for them. The stock pipes were just toooo quite for me ..

Why would anyone consider flowmasters on a 35K car?

Just asking

Dunno Bad Pny...

This is my first "real" sports car...I don't count the Mustang GT I had...

I am a total n00b to the sports/muscle car scene...sorry if my ignorance offends you...

If you like that classic flowmaster sound........ there's only one way to get it. But I agree with you to an extent. Save for the "sound" which is all opinion, the fit/finish and just overall quality is not as good as Magnaflow, bassani, borla etc.
