High tech voting???
As you may or may not know California has installed a new "touch screen" voting system (in order to avoid the whole "floating chad fiasco".
So I go to the polling place this morning and guess what.... the voting system was down. ![]() As I am leaving and muttering language unfit for virgin ears one of the volunteers comes running out of the polling place and tells me I could go to another polling place and vote. So I ask them if the "other" polling place is one-line.... they don't know, they don't have their phone number. So I ask them for directions... drive to the new polling place, fill out forms to cast a "provisional ballet" and vote. The system is cool, touch screen and all but there is no paper trail (ok that's the accountant in me)... so if someone contests the vote how are they going to recount??? ![]() Was this voting system made by Microsoft???? ![]() |
