Thumbs up Autobahn!

Hey everyone,
I asked Tony and Edmond to host two files for me. One is my drive to work, and the other is my drive home. I know...its not the Cobra, but it is the Autobahn . Car is an 04 Mini Cooper S.

To Work

To Home

P.S. I went up to Nurburgring today and ran 4 laps. Got one on video, but its 318 mb. You'll have to find me at a carshow for that one. I have to say, that it was the most fun I have had driving.

Cheers from Germany

nice video! I always wondered what the autobahn looked like. It's nice to see the other drivers move over for you! That does not happen a lot in the US. Thanks for sharing!

That is just friggin' wierd to see people actually get out of the way in the fast lane. You rarely see that here in the states. I guess everybody is too busy talking on their cell phone to notice who's coming up on them.

I envy your daily commute!!!

Sweet....

Sure as heck ain't my daily drive.

I've driven the Autobahn several times as well as several other major highways in France, Spain and Italy. They are all a blast. But the cities are bad.

Sure ain't the US, turn signals used, no one hanging out in the left lane like they own it.

Enjoy

why can't we have a highway system like that here in the states? that would cut so much time out of my daily commute!

A couple things to add. Its about 2500 Euros for a liscense to drive over here. Its the law that unless you are passing, you will be in the right lane.

I have also driven the autobahn many times. I find it is a matter of conditioning. If you are in the left lane, and you think you are going fast, a huge BMW or Mercedes will run up your backside and give you about 0.1 seconds to get out of the way. If you don't they will simply run you over rather than tap the brakes. It really makes you pay attention to what you are doing.

I actually find the that yellow light before the green light is a much better invention. It cuts down on a lot of B.S. at traffic lights and really convinces you not to try and run a red light.
