showing

I was wanting to know what class i could be put in to if i were to show my car. by the SCMC rules. I have a aftermarket paint job, a new shifter knob, cold air intake, and a SVT cobra license plate holder thing. any ideas if the shifter knob and the plate holder count as mods or what? what about paint is that a mod? if i were to take out my jet chip would that lower my mod limit by one?

Modifications are visible mods so your jet chip wouldn't count at all.
Paint modifications would as well as your shifter if it looks aftermarket (not stock looking). The license plate holder could be counted as a modification as well....

Clear side markers, snake grill emblem, lowering kit, rims, stripes, paint, interior pieces etc...all will go as mods.

Chips, pulleys, etc...would not. A supercharger/turbo/nitrous would as well as chroming the engine or a cat-back (exhaust tips).

thanks a lot. the snake emblem on the front is not stock? I have a 1999 i just got it and they have some weird stuff done to it. Like they took off the fog lights when they painted it and never put them back on. the rear SVT emblem is gone (ordered another one) some weird new short shifter and mustang shifter knob.

I would think that you would be in the personalized category because of the paint. Usually stock would be 0-3 mods, personalized 4-8 mods and Modified 9+ mods. In some shows the judges would decide which category you would be in. About the sticker, I would not look at it as a mod. An inspection sticker is not a mod so I would not think an svt cobra club sticker as a mod. Maybe a large windshield banner. I would not think the license plate holder would be a mod either. Cars do not come out of the factory with a license plate and people do not think of it as a mod, so I would not think a liscense plate holder would be one either (as long as it sorta looks stock). I don't really know what to think about the snake grill emblem some ways I would think it would be considered a mod and in others I would not. Can't make up my mind on that one.

Club sticker should have no effect on judging. But in Mustang Club of America judged shows they add a point if it(M.C.A sticker) is displayed on car.

lots of people have won for various reasons-- different shows= different judges! just because you don't win at one doesn't mean you won't win another
