my 97 scort VS 97 Civic EX
Ok, so im getting on the highway doin about 35 on the ramp and this civic with body kit and rims and exhuast is tailing the fu*k outa me, so i keep my speed. Once you get down the the bottom it slits off into 2 lanes and then merges to high-way. So i keep my speed on 35 (knowing that downshifting to 2nd is sexy at this speed) and he comes to the left of me and matches my speed and starts to take off. I drop it into 2nd and get bout a car infront, get all over third and pull about 3-4 cars, hit 4th at about 80-85 mph and pull some more, not keepin much track anymore cuz his car is worthkless, and finally shut down about 95-100mph.
He followed me off the free-way so i pulled over into a wendys and he followed, got out he said "i just got beat by an escort" and he asked me what i had, told him, he had intake and exhuast on a 1997 Civic EX.

Nice kill. Get a cobra. then they know not to mess with you. they hear the engine roar up and that scares them off.

Not many Civics have been asking for a beating from me lately. What I end up wasting my gas on lately is WRX's. Every once in a while you gotta put someone in their place tho...

is your cobra supercharged/modified? a 2004 sti can pull a 13 sec quarter stock ! that's pretty damn quick! the all wheel drive just makes them shoot off the line. I wouldn't mind a wrx sti of my own

my mods are listed on my sig in my post above. no supercharging, just a nasty NA 304 with with about 340 HP. Almost 300 ft lbs of torque to the wheels, 275 already on tap at 3k rpm, flat to 6k rpm. I am sure I haven't encountered drivers who could muster the times the magazine guys squeeze out of those cars.

Nasioc
Hi all, new member here. I just happened accross this thread and wanted to invite you to check out www.nasioc.com. There you will see that several people there have been hitting high 12's with their completely stock STi's. They are very quick cars and tons of fun! Of course, they are absolutely no match for the Mustang when it comes to all out power and performance at the dragstrip. They just weren't meant to compete in that kind of racing, but you can still have lot's of fun with them there.
This is a nice forum by the way! Carlos |

Nice kill. That brings me back in time a bit, I still remember my 87 Escort GT. Top speed was only 124mph and that took a long time to hit. I could only imagine the difference the Zetec motor has compared to the little HO 1.9L motor of the much older Escort. I literally drove that car to the ground with 264,000 miles on it. It was still running strong when the salvage yard came to take it away. It still moved on it's own power eventhough the sub-frame broke out and was dragging on the ground. I certainly hope I get more life out of my Mustang.
