"t" section in PCV line????

I was considering installing an oil separator on the PCV line but noticed a "T" section between the PCV and intake. Does anybody know where the it goes?
I am not sure if a separator is needed as was the case with the 01.

The T is a vent for the gas tank. Don't block it.
I use a breather on my 03 on the Pass. valve cover. It helps put less oil into the intake.
Leave the pcv side alone. The seperator seems to work, but I think it looks cob.
It's the same thing I have on my air compressor.

COB???? Well it is the same thing used for air compressors, and it does work I had one on the 01. I picked up another one at Lowes ($21.99) which has the aluminum head with a black oxide coating similar to the one that Steeda is selling for $50.00. Wal-mart has the same brand but I think the casting is a different material and it is painted blue. I tapped the two holes on the top with a 10-24 tap. I had some stainless steel cap screws laying around in the Engineering lab. I machined a nice bracket for it out of 1/2 inch aluminum stock so I can mount it. The hole centers are 0.900" for the head of the separator. I will be using the brass hardware for the connections (the type intended for splicing air lines together) vrs the quick disconnect hardwar I used when installing in the 01. I should probably have it installed this weekend. I will also be putting on an aluminum air cap on the bottom since it looks like it would work better than the vinyl cap that came with it.

As for a breather on the Passenger side, when used with the PCV, you will get unmetered air into the intake. SHM has an oil separator just for the breather side. One can easily pick up a similar styled PCV canister by Moroso at any parts store.

I don't think that is right if I am understanding which lines you are talking about. I just installed two Kenne Bells on 03 Cobras. The bottom "T" section goes to the lower intake and will suck oil/moisture from the bottom valley of the lower intake by the vacuum from the segment of the "T" going to the plenum on the blower. The other remaining section of the "T" goes to the PCV valve.

I just put separators on both sides of my 03. I'm pulling 18 psi with a KB so I have a lot of boost. The driver's side is sucking some oil into the seperator. The passenger is not showing anything. My setup looks good but I think I am going to put K&N vent filters on both sides. On the PCV valve, I'm going to cap the blower port to the PCV and I am going to cap the lower intake PCV line. After a few miles I am going to put a vacuum pump on the lower intake line and see if any liquids come out. If not I'll probably just leave it capped and pump it out once and awhile. There shouldn't be any oil present using the vent filters. The only other thing could be condensation from the intercooler or any leakage if there are any on the IC.

That's funny because I bought two of the same from Lowes but used a 10-32 tap and SS socket head screws. I made angle brackets from aluminum. Aint that a kick.

Here are a couple of pics from my separators. Here is something I found when I installed both KB's, one on mine with high mileage and one on a buddies 03 with low miles. This is just my opinion and I aint no expert. Take it with a grain of salt.

When I pulled both Eatons and removed the intercoolers, both were coated with oil. Mine was far worse than my buddies due to the mileage. The mesh between the rows on the IC is very fine. You can barely see though it looking at the sun. If oil gets on the IC, it will restrict air flow through the IC and it will also reduce the efficiency of the IC. Based on what I have learned working on mine, there is a hell of a lot more vacuum being pulled on the driver's side head. This may be because the plenum of the KB is really necked down where the barbed fitting is for the PCV valve. This necked down area results is higher air velocity and creates more vacuum at this point. It may be a little less on the Eaton but will still be greater than the passenger side. I had 5/8" hose on both separators. On the driver's side the vacuum was so great it was sucking the line nearly flat while the passenger side held shape. I replaced the driver's side with 3/8". I think that most of the oil that gets in the engine comes from the driver's side. It's just from what I've seen. That's why I'm just eliminating my PCV valve and installing the vent filters. Early next year my car will be mostly a track car so environmental issues are not a real concern.

I'm sorry, but no way am I putting "home air comperssor" oil seperators on my Terminator.
I've had breathers on my last 3 blower cars with no problems what so ever. Yes I dynoed them and there was no lean condition do to "unmetered" air.

The breathers look 100 times better too IMO.

I have not gotten around to installing the separator yet, probably because I do not want to drill holes in the fender or plastic wiper shroud. I am considering just installing a breather system that vents air from both valvecovers with only one filter. Then again there is the option for the large breather filters too. I still have the vaccum cap for the passenger side and can easily muster up a cap for the pcv side by using an air line plug. What I am trying to avoid is just that, oil in the intake clogging up every thing. All that is needed is to install the components when the vehicle gets inspected. I only spent $20.00 so far (on the separator) the hose was cheap (cost nothing since I only needed a short section, the auto parts store just said here, take it you can have it for nothing. In any case, you should clean the intake tract with TB cleaner to remove build up on a regular basis while the engine is idling. I usually do that every oil change.

I just bought two of these from Summit racing in stock K&N part number 62-1160 for the three inch, .75 diameter grommet at $21 each.
