M-5300-C springs...
Has anyone tried these? I was thinking about it. Looking at the spring rates and height drops these don't seem to drop the height more than an inch or so. I have to drive over some pretty nasty speedbumps and driveways and didn't want to drop it too much. Also I kinda like the ride quality. The Ford wishbook has the springs as 650 lb./in. front and 200/300 rear. I street drive alot and would like to put it on the track for once maybe auto-x but not too serious.
Any suggestions? john watkins wavesnsand@cox.net Virginia Beach, Va. |

You should consider the H&R Sport Springs and the Eibach springs (not sure what they call theirs). MaximumMotorsports.com carries both and they are two of the highest quality springs on the market. I don't have any experience with the Ford springs. You can expect a 1-1.5" drop from the two I mentioned which is perfect for most Mustangs for street and occasional autocross/track use.

M-5300-C Spring Kits
These kits are designed for 1979-2004 Mustangs equipped with a live rear axle, not a 1999 to 2004 Cobra with independent rear suspension.
I have the C springs on my 1997 Cobra. They lowered the car 1 1/4 inch in front and 7/8 inch in the rear. These springs are a good compromise spring for a car that is street driven, but also sees some open-track duty. They are firm, but not harsh on the street; and capable on the track.

Springs
Thanks for the info. I am looking at trying the H&R springs, I have talked to a bunch of people who prefer them to most of the others. I am still a bit worried about the ground clearance. I just don't want to be like the "fastandfurious" crowd who cannot go over a speedbump and have to hold up the world just to do it. But I think I will give it a try after I get some of the other components to put on at the same time.
