FordRacing Cat Back Exhaust

Found this in the "FordRacing" web site:

M-5230-M58*
The ultimate 1999-04 Cobra 4.6L DOHC exhaust system. Functionally identical to the system used on the Ford Racing Mustang. This is a complete cat back system using 2.5" diameter tubing, world-class dual mode mufflers, and down stream “X” pipe. The dual mode mufflers utilize two flow paths and a pressure sensitive internal valve to minimize back pressure without producing excessive noise. This combination yields mellow tones in normal daily driving, while producing unrivaled performance. If it’s good enough for the Ford Racing Mustang, it’s probably good for your application. $696.00

anyone know anything about this ??

I am looking for an exhaust thats "quite" in normal driving (no interior droning) but, roars when jumped on.

The dealer will install the above exhaust with no impact on my warrantee.

Your link does not work, but looking at the description, it looks like that is the FR500 Cat-back, which is what I own. Here is the link For the 01's it was descent, but for an 03-04, if you plan on doing some serious modding, I would at least get a 3" catback.

Now as far as the FR500, it is quiet. It is more quiet than stock. It also lacks rumble due to the X. When you get on it, it comes to life and get loud, but it is more euro sounding than most catback and again lacks grunt.

There are soundclips of mine online and at mustangexhaust.com , but they are deceptive since they accent sounds that do not sound loud in real life.

I would recommend a Magnaflow catback to you if you want something tame down low and loud up top.

As far as the warranty, realistly and legally, no catback should void any warrantly since the aftermarket part needs to be a direct cause of the failure.

Firme!

I plan on getting my car up to around 600rwhp! And according to the previous reply you said run a 3" cat-back! I was looking at the MAC 3" cat-back and was wondering if you've heard anything about them, good/bad?

Thanks, any response would be greatly appreciated!
