Kooks Headers
I've seen a few people running the Kooks LT headers and was wondering if you guys have the "step-ups" the 1 3/4" piping instead of the stock pipe 1 5/8". I've been looking at some headers for my 04' and had the Kooks and the BBK LT headers in mind. Any suggestions on either one?

Just as a freindly reminder you have H&R springs and I'm pretty sure that the long tube will drag.. I would recommend some kind of mid-lengths(Bassani)or some other brand.

I'm going to replace my whole exhaust set-up I have now, and I would like to replace the headers. I'm getting the Whipple put on in April/May and I want the exhaust to flow freely~ I don't want it to drag, but what other options are there? The Bassani's, are they emissions legal?

I've decided to just go with the Bassani Mid-Length Headers w/catted X-pipe, for the Cat-back I'm not sure yet! I've always gone with Flowmaster, but I'm thinking about the Borla cat-back this time!

My long tubes only drag going across large speed bumps and it really isn't the headers that drag but the mufflers. My car is lowered about 1.5".

I have headers on my car, which are the ceramic coated MAC 1 5/8" long tubes, mated to a 2 1/2" ProChamber to a 3" Flowpath catback. I recently lowered my car with the H&R SuperSports as well... and usually the only thing that ever scrapes is either the x-brace (convertible models have this, coupes do not) or where the ProChamber meets the 3" catback... right at the flanges. The 3" section of exhaust is quite large with the flanges hanging off it
![]() In my honest opinion I think the Kook's headers are way overpriced. I've seen them on an 03/04 set-up and they hang a lot lower than mine... plus they use "slip fit" connectors so there is a possibility of leaking if not tighten properly. I know a lot of people that hate MAC but I've had nothing but good results from them and a great sound. I get complimented all the time on how it sounds as it definitely is "noticeable." If I make it up to Victory Lane Carting on the 8th I'll let you look at everything and give you some head's up... including what the "black supercharger option" looks like under the hood ![]() Shannon

I've decided to go with the whole Bassani set-up. I ordered the Mid-Length Headers, X-pipe, and Cat-back today, all in Stainless Steel of course! It should be here in a week, so I won't have it installed for the Jan. 8th event here in Charlotte, but it'll be on in time for Dragday Feb. 26th!! ![]() ![]() - J

I was gonna tell you to go with the BBK long tubes...i had a buddy put the whole Bassani setup on his and he didnt notice hardly any difference with the mid-lengths, but got 10-15 extra rwhp with the BBK's...good luck though and see you on the 8th

One of the reasons I went with the Mid-Lengths is because the LT's have a few draw backs! Not in performance but in the placement of them. For instance you have to take of the headers for Transmission work, Drivers side for the Clutch work and so forth. I'll let you know of the horsepower output when I get them installed and dyno'd!
