Finally a Cobra

Just want to take an opportunity to introduce myself. I am Robk17th. All my life I have dreamed about owning a Cobra Mustang. Finally at the age of 50 I bought a used 01 with 24000 miles. Finally some power. I remember in the early 70's I bought my first tang a 66 mustang 6 cyl. Since then I have owned 6 more. I traded a 99 convertible V6. which was hot but did not have power from the good old days. Finally a christmas gift for myself. Just for me (my wife can't drive a stick). Everybody I know think I am crazy, but they just dont understand. I know in this forum there are people that have the same interests in the Mustang that I have always have, They say I am going into a mid-life crisis, I tell them I have never grown up yet!, Well anyway hello to all. Is there any members In the Hickory NC area.

From the guy who just doesn't want to grow up and drive those lousy 4 door sedans.

If it makes you feel any better I finally bought a Cobra after 35 years of wanting one. I figure a 5.0 for my 50th this year is justifiable. I found a '94 pace car and have owned it for about three weeks. With the weather up here I've only been able to change the oil and drive it about 200 miles. Can't wait for spring. I'm a newbie too...Here's to the old guys never getting old

Frogbit,

I drove my pace car today... it was 60 plus degrees and I was on the phone with Cobra-R while riding up the interstate with the top down. One awesome day to drive the droptop. Where do you live??

How many miles does your pace car have?

Welcome to the BB!

I'm in Connecticut. Spent 5 years in Rocky Mount NC so I'm familiar with the great weather your way. The pace has 68k miles on it and is totally original as far as I can tell. Needs some TLC but was well worth the investment. Any tips on tweaking the car without straying too far from original?
