car scales?

I got the G-tech Road Race meter for XMAS and it is outstanding. However, I need to know the exact mass of my car to make it work correctly.

Where (hopefully in northwest Houston) can I get my car weighed? A recycling place or truck scales maybe?

HRP has a weigh place....but that doesn't help ya much. probably a truck scale....not sure where one is around here....sorry Henry...I'm no help.

I do know my friend's 04 Cobra coupe weighed about 3,998 lbs.

I was going to do that and forgot, I need to know the weight of the track monster. I would really like to know the weight of each corner.

do truck weight stations let cars weigh in? If so you can just find one of those on the interstate.

Also, I wanna say Mike Bell (Admiral) said he had corner weighting scales once (4 scales to put under each wheel). You might wanna PM him..

I don't know about there in Texas, but here in Oregon the truck weigh stations usually keep their scales on and accessible. every once in awhile they might cover up the readout, but just go back another time and it will be left uncovered.

hey man why don't you go to HRP next weekend when they open and do it. You will have to pay to get in but that is the only place I can think of.

Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coimng, if anyone does know of someplace close to The Woodlands.

I don't think I want to go to HRP for a number of reasons.

Primarily because I have been practicing my launches using the G-Tech, and both I and the car really suck. It would be a waste until the suspension gets worked on.

Also, I have to spend my "cobra time" wisely and would rather try to go to MSR in Feb if folks are going. I don't know if I'll get much cobra time after child 3 arrives in March.

Henry...
These guys have truck scales...

----> http://www.pilotcorp.com/Locations/F...Template=false

Location details... http://www.pilottravelcenters.com/Lo...ocation_id=383

Certified scales---> http://www.pilottravelcenters.com/Lo...ed_Scales.aspx

I weigh about 170(dressed)...
Coupe with 50 pounds of subframes added and less than 1/2 tank of gas ...
3966<------ WOW!!!
If I had this engine in my old 52 pickup instead of the 428 SCJ ...I would have been running ...... very low 12s(or maybe even high 11s), instead of 12.8s...
My pick up with me in it only weighed 3460...

I can't help but be impressed over and over by these cars...

They Almost defy the laws of physics...

A full tank is a lot of weight though... what does gas weigh??.... I think about 6.1 lbs. per gallon depending on temperature(it's heavier when it's cold out)

Plus Henry you are not a skinny little girlie man... your a big guy!!
Big guy's need lots of horsepower, and big brakes(w/ fresh fluid)...

Your car IS fast as HELL!!!

Plus after the dust settles... you get to cruise with the top down

It did get me thinking about weight too though, when I weighed mine...
