car problems
car pulls hard up to 4k rpm but after that, it sometimes starts to suptter and not want to rev past 4500 rpms. I tried to floor it but nothing happens, it just sits still at 45000. Sometimes it goes past that but sputters all the way up and other times, it sputters all the way from 2k thru 5k rpms. The other day in stop and go traffic, the car starts shaking while at a red light and than dies on me. It took a couple tries to start the car up again. My SES light is on and I went to AutoZone to get it checked out, they said that my cats were not working well and may be clogged. Could this cause my car to be running this bad and not pull hard in high rpms or do I have a much bigger problem. I have bassani x-pipe with cats, pullies, and a K&N filter. Besides that, everything else is stock. Oh I did change the spark plugs and fuel filter about a year ago. Thanks in advance. The codes that came up are:
P0420: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) P0430: Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2) P0300: Random Misfire Detected |

hmm.. you could have faulty cat's I guess, but that "random misfire" code has my attention.
Did you check the plugs??? I wonder if you are having coil pack issues..

going to check the plugs this weekend. what should i look for? i think i'm going to try and take off the x-pipe again and put the stock ones back on. any tips for the second time around. was thinking about spraying some WD40 on it to make it easier. How do i check the coils? Thanks.

As far as the mid-pipe, did you not have this problem before the install? I mean, did this start right after the mid-pipe install? If so, it would make sense that the problem is with the mid-pipe. I would suggest using WD-40, and then taking the "problem nut" off first before taking off the other 7. If thats not the problem, and you don't have a air or fuel problem, then looking at the spark, if you have no diagnostic tools, it might be be worth just going down to the parts store, picking up a set of NGK TR55 (they should already be gapped to 0.054) and throwing those on. See if you still have the problem, if not, they are like $12 for the set and well worth the upgrade. On the old plugs, look for rust on the passenger side rear plug, and possible damage to the plugs themselves.

not your exhaust
not your exhaust, it has to do with your misfire, the only reason the bank 1 and bank 2 codes are showing is because of the misfire, fix the misfire and the other two codes won't come back on
