I dont know the times on the 05 but if they are close to the cobra's it would be because of the hook not the power. As far as 90mph, i would say the cobra is faster because once you hook it up, it pulls like there is no tomorrow and don't run out of power. I test drove a 05 GT and it ran good but it is not a cobra. just my 2 cents

The 04 Cobra is 1-1.5 second FASTER than the 05Gt in the quarter mile.

Reading magazine tests, the GT ran anywhere from 13.8 to 14.3 in the quarter mile. The stock 04 Cobra runs anywhere from 12.4 to 12.9. You decide....

03/04 Cobra is definately faster than the 05. The 05 since the new mustang weighs a bit more and has hp and torque. It is more comparable to the Mach 1 and 99/01 Cobra's than an 03/04 Cobra as far as performance is concerned.

No brainer. The 05' looks good but it is no Cobra.
Now when the 0?' year Cobra comes out..... I might consider a trade.

No question about it, the 03-04 Cobra IS faster than the 05 GT.

Road & Track tested the 03 Cobra in late 02 and it ran 0-60 times at 4.50 seconds. The best I've seen yet on the 05 GT is 5.2 seconds. Same with 1/4 mile, the Cobra is considerably quicker.

However, the GT is by far the fastest GT ever made and you have to give it props for that!!

A good race would be the following:
  • 05 GT vs
  • 04 Mach 1 vs
  • 02 Cobra
That would be fun to watch!

Yes Firme is right 100 were built during the 02 model year and were sent Down Under. From what I understand it was a breath of fresh air for them. Makes me wonder what kind of roads they have got down there.
