98 Cobra vs. Hemi Stationwagon thingy...

Last night I was cruising through Farragut (Knoxville) and this ugly Dodge Hemi Stationwagon-thingy comes flying by me in the passing lane...

Oh HELL NO! I ain't getting shown up by a stationwagon!

So at the next yellow light the guy dives into the right lane in front of me (someone was in the left lane.. as usual), light turns red and there we set waiting on the green, him in front of me.

Light turns green and he stomps it with me right behind. I had no problem jumping into the left lane, around him, and back in front of him by mid 3rd gear. Honestly I thought he would be a little faster.

We get caught by another red light (and yet another left lane hogging blue-hair)... this time I'm in front, even worse results for the stationwagon. He hung in there behind me decently through second, but once I hit third gear it got ugly.

Anybody know what that ugly-ass thing was? A Magnum wagon or something?

...off to do research.

Yeah it was a Magnum, they're suppposed to be putting out 340 hp with a 5.7-liter Hemi!

Good race! I'm with you, I hate it when people underestimate the Cobra!

But we always keep them in check!

Good kill. You should have asked what he had in that thing, perhaps you may get the response like in the commercial, "er um, small ladder, a few 2x4's and lots of garbage, oh wait, that is the interior never mind". Just wait for the new charger to come out since they are plugging that at NASCAR events now. It is basically the same car but in sedan form. If they shoehorned the V10 in that thing, it may be a challenge . Perhaps if they stuffed the hemi into that Crossfire vehivle things would be interesting. It seems like the Chrysler corporation is building what chrysler and Mercedes Benz have experience building " tanks". Where is the turret? So that is where the term fart cannon came from.... At least the challenger is some what american and not a rice meal.

Yeah, probably a Magnum. The thing to look for is whether or not there are one or two tail pipes (that is if you should ever fall behind it, which I doubt). This will tell you whether you smoked a 6 or an 8.

Great kill never-the-less
