Dyno Help in Upstate S.C.
Hello Everyone. New to the Site and my first post. Need your help. I noticed some people attended a Dyno day at a place in Anderson,S.C a few weeks ago? Heck I'm from Anderson and never knew of the place! If anyone attended can you let me know how it went? I currently have an 04 Mystichrome w/Bassani X Pipe and Steeda Cold Air Kit. Thinking about the Predator Tuner & Blower Pulley swap but would like it customed tuned?
I'm also in the process of putting my Supercharged -New Stroker 347 Motor in my 92 5.0 LX and in dire need of a Dyno to tune it in? Can Versuch Racing accomodate? Any help is appreciated! Thanks! |

I set it all up...

![]() Versuch primarily caters to the import crowd & will sell you the 22" blings you crave... All joking aside, I stepped in to get Rick & Linn Erdman a dyno shop in SC when the Charleston dyno day (scheduled the weekend before) folded. A good friend of mine had used this shop for baseline runs only & it somewhat worked out as there were no egos to get in the way of Rick's tuning. Then again, the dyno operator was pretty intent on closing the shop @ 4pm regardless of tuning progress which REALLY sucked as a few guys had driven 6 hours for an Amazon Racing tune. See, the shop doesn't provide tuning expertise so they'd be of no help to you. I'd asked about the calibration of the equipment prior to the Amazon Racing dyno day & upon telling Rick & Linn what the owner had said, Rick decided to bring his own A/F equipment & a good thing, too. Early on it was discovered that the shop's A/F equipment had malfunctioned. The day ended at 8 pm after one customer & Rick himself talking things over with the dyno operator. I'll never go back. Thanks for the follow-up Kilroy.
I called Versuch and the guy was pretty short, didn't offer to much help and threw in the hours open part. Said between 2-4 on Saturday, sorry to hear some guys drove a long ways to no avail. Now I know not to waste my time going.

Everybody that signed up did get tuned (2 people only made pulls though) but early on we felt pressured to speed up the tuning process & you simply can not do that. The dyno owner/operator has no experience in tuning our cars & I am not sure he's tuned much of anything else, either. If you wanted to make a few pulls, OK. Versuch Racing will do. If you need tuning performed this is not the place to do so without outside help (like Amazon Racing) involved.

There is a place in Mauldin just outside Greenville called Extreme Velocity. The shop is pretty new, maybe 2 years old. The owner is very nice. The day I went there to do some base line for my car I payed for three pulls but got like 5 cause he didn't have anything better to do. He has a "Mustang Dyno" as oposed to a Dyno Jet. Mustang dyno's are supposedly better suited for tuning. I know he has Diablo equipment there and was practicing tunes when I was there...two years ago so maybe he's gotten good at tuning.

Anderson will have a few starting this spring, usually Saturday nites at the McDonalds or Ingles Parking Lot..... We should all get the Cobra's together with the Bow-Tie boys one evening... Venom55- Thanks for the info. on Extreme Velocity. Let me know if you go there anytime soon. David S. |

The upstate mustang club has cruise ins once a month. i'm not a member but anyone can go hang out. it's been a while since i've been to extreme but i'm sure he's still blowing up motors...wasn't his fault but a old style funny car did a run on his machine and backfired...burnt the place down. put him out of business for a few months.

Thanks!
Yes, let me know when you guys want to get together in Anderson/G'Ville area.
I don't have the Predator(yet) but when I do get one, I'll certainly appreciate any help you can give. What type of #'s did you pull on the dyno once you tuned your car? |

When I added the 2.93, cold air, and flows, I just added the Predator pulley tune and went from stock 375 hp/ 350 tq to 428hp/450 tq. The name of the dyno I mentioned is the Bonds career center in Greer. Just for the record, we are having a little get together this Sunday night at the Dairy Queen in Greer. I didn't know if you would be interested, but if you are, you could follow us to Greer. Just let me know. My email is RR03Cobra@aol.com.
