Transmission swap

I have a worsening left knee problem, and wondering if its possible to take my 2003 Cobra SVT 6 speed trany out and put an automatic trany in that would be strong enough to take it,

anyone heard of anyone doing this before? can it be done?

Probably depends on your hp but I have seen several supercharged 99 Cobras running with automatics in them.

I saw some threads on www.horsepowered.com where some serious drag racers swapped to automatic. They had aslo switched to solid axles. Thier purpose was different then yours but I believe it can be done.
