Brake Help

looks like its time to do some brake changes, im looking at getting the OEM Brembo Rotor's but what kind of pad should i use, i dont plan on doing to much racing maybe one or two trackdays a year. So do should i just get the basic Brembo's or slotted, Also will i need to get new calipers for any of this??? Looking to spend under 800 (or somewhere around there) for both front rear.Plus ill have to pay to get someone to put them on seeing that im overseas thanks

I would go to Autozone and get the pads.

Plain Brembos are fine.

New calipers- NO

$200-$400 max

I've got a '96 Cobra convertible, and just added some cross-drilled and slotted Brembo rotors to it. I've also been using VGX metallic pads, with pretty good success. I don't a lot of racing either, but this thing stops on a dime compared to what is used to do. I love being able to drop the top, but all that extra weight kills me. As for as the pads go, as long as you don't get the $29 special from your local parts store you'll probably be fine.

I have them on my 99'. They are better than stock pads but don't like them as much as the Hawk HPS pads. The initial bite isn't as good. For track use I switch out and use Axxis Ulimates. great bite, not too hard on the rotors. But they are dusty...
Also, stock brembo's rotors are great, but I like the power slotII's. They are slotted and dimpled and plated so they don't rust.

Here's what they look like installed.
