Flash chip or not

Wow!

So much to consider here...

I've got the Bassani cat back and a Steeda CAI kit...nothing else other than some pretty sweet wheels and some billet pieces inside and out.

However, I haven't gone forward with that BIG step (and relatively small expense!) to install the ol' chip and pulley combo!

What should I do?!?!?!?!?!

I'm going back and forth on this next stage and seem to have cold feet big time!!

Worried about warranty issues...worried about true driveability, also about continued maintanence.

There are SO many options between which pulley size, which chip, should you just do a reflash etc!

Wow!

I'm not looking to do a port job on the Eaton SC although I hear that is sweet...I've also heard good and bad about the true need for a MAF and a better throttle body.

As we all know, it generally comes down to these four:
  1. Exhaust
  2. CAI kit
  3. Pulley
  4. Chip
So, I've got two done and WHAT TO DO ON THE OTHER TWO!!!

Help brothers and sisters...help!

I'm in the same boat you are. I just got Magnaflow catbacks, MM subframes, and drop-in intake, and wondering what to do next.

Thinking about Acufab throttle body next, or just bite the bullet and go with the chip and pulley.

I would get an x-pipe to open up the exhaust a little more. If you want to do more you should get a pulley and a chip or a flash tuner they both have advantages.

Might go with the IRS bushings and the MGW shifter next. I'm enjoying the increased rumble of the exhaust as it is, I want to improve the feel of the car and decrease the wheel hop before making it even louder.

It really depends on how much you wanna spend...

1. $500--pulley (upper only)+chip
2. $500-$750--pulley+chip+IRS bushings+MGW shifter
3. $1000+--all of the above+Accufab TB/Plenum+X-pipe

Don't forget about install prices as well...unless you decide to go with a can tune and can do the work all by yourself...

Pulley and chip will probably yield 45-50rwhp...

Tb/Plenum--20rwhp (costs $500 itself)

If it were me, I would do #2, b/c you get the power along with IRS help...

For the price of an accufab tb and plenum, you can port the blower,tb, and plenum. I know you said you were not interested in a port job, but thats what I would do before I paid that much for just a tb. Of course, it would cost more to install, but it would be worth more hp.

Question- Blk04cobra1 or anyone else

I'm thinking about the Chip or Tuner purchase with the upper Pulley next. Will the car run to Hot with the extraboost and do I need to buy the GordsHE at the same time? If so, this will delay my purchase a little longer. Just want to know before finding out the hard way...

Also- I'm still up in the air and haven't decided on the Predator(FlashTuner) or a "Chip".... can anyone help me out with the two,differences/Pros/Cons. I've only been reading about the Diablo tuner and know nothing about purchasing a Chip.

Thanks
DS

The predator is an excelent tool and will only get better in time, with new software....I have had both chips and flashtuners and I think the Flashtuner is by far the way to go, way more versitile.

Do the pulley and the chip but, get the X-pipe first..this opens up your exhaust in turn helping engine produce more HP. Also..I would port your TB/Plenum...much less expensive and it will produce as much HP as the aftermarket versions..once all this is done then I would do the pulley and chip after a dyno tune. And after that you would need to think about upgrading the HE to reduce heat...
