Manifold/Header Question
My friend has a '99 Lightning(lowered) and backed over some rail-road ties. Banged the exhaust pretty hard. Ever since then you hear a leak(sippin' noise), we thought from underneath. A local muffler shop says the leak is a cracked manifold. The noise stops once it warms up.
Can you buy aftermarket Headers or would it be better to go with the original stock Ford manifold? Thanks, DS |

I had a 00 Lightning and put a cat back on it. Other than noise i dont think it helped in the power department. If i had to replace it anyway, i would go with a header. If it was me i would call JDM and yes i know alot of people had problems with them but i allways got good advice and good service from them. But im sure someone can tell you of some more companys out there maybe some of the SCMC vendors. I would also compare the prices of the header to the manifold.

Thanks Jack.
I'll give the guys at JDM a call to see. The manifold from Ford wasn't to pricy, $190 bucks but wanted to see if he could pick up a few more HP with the headers.
