Eibach lowering spring install question
I am currently putting the prothane bushings on the lower A-arms front and back and at the same time I am installing the eiback spring pro-kit. I finished the rear and when I lowered the car off the jacks my ride height went up 3/4 of an inch? Is this normal? I haven't been able to drive it yet because I am waiting on the machine shop to press in the front bushings before I can put the front end back together. I am hoping that it is just a settling issue after I put a couple of miles on it before I get the alignment done. Has anyone else done this and had it happen? It will really bum me out to install lowering springs just to have to turn around and put mudders on to fill the new void created

I've never had that happen to me first hand. But I have heard of that before. Once you get the front end back together and get all four tires on the ground measure your ride height and then drive a couple hundred miles over time and see if they settle, and if the height comes down. When ever I have put springs on my cars the ride height has always come down a little after driving. I make it a point to drive on some bumpy roads to work the springs a little.
Hope it helps

That sounds way way way wrong. Springs will settle some but not
3/4" plus another 1 1/2". It is probably because you don't have the weight properly distributed while on jack stands. Unless you put the front springs on the rear??? The fronts are stiffer progressives springs. I don't remember which spring was taller.

Well I got it all back together and drove it for about 20 miles. At this point the rear is now 1/4 inch lower than original and the front is about 3/4 inch lower than original. So it settled a bunch but not near enough. What I think the issue is is that I installed all new polyurethane bushing on the car and torqued them down while the car was raised up on jack stands (Control arms at max extension) So now I need to work the bushings out to loosen them up as well? Hopefully it settles soon.

Lower
When I put the Eibach Pro Kit on my car, I didn't notice it any lower at all. I was concerned because I had the same tire clearance in the wheel wells as before. I put my car next to a friends that is the same year and it was significantly lower! The spring kit lowered the center of gravity of the car. It is about 1 1/4" lower than his. I kept the stock bushings since there was only 2K on the car.

Thats a good idea wrench turner I think I will try that next week. I still need the alignment but I don't want to do that until it is settled to the correct height. I have to put it in a mall show this weekend so I have to get it all prettied up. No time to play with it till then. But I will definitely give that a shot. Thanks
