Cobra Emblems...

Anyone have the Chrome/Mirror COBRA letters on the back bumper. Contemplating putting on my 04 Mystichrome but hesitant? Will it harm the paint if I decide to take them off or if someone tries to pry off? Just curious.

Also, Cobra snake on the front grill, where's the best place to purchase those as well.

Wished could have made it to the track with everyone on Sat., had to work though. Sounds like everyone had a blast!

Use 50 restoration for the front grill emblem, they are a club vendor and you will receive a discount from them. Just one of the many perks of being a SCMC member
The StainlessSteel bumber inserts can be found here:
http://www.stainlessbumperletters.com/

Also one of the many vendors in our vendor section on the home page!

I'm not sure how the effect is on the paint, but maybe someone that has had them on can tell you more about them. I know that once you put them on, they're on there and it'll take a lot to get them off!

I got mine from SS Inserts and they were top notch quality. They came sealed with the adhesive strips already attached and I don't think they would be all that easy to get off. They look really good on the mystichrome as that is what I have and I am very picky about every little thing I do to the car. I am totally pleased with the results. Definitely not the cheapest route to go though since it is polished stainless steel.

Bumper Letters

[FONT=Comic Sans MS]undefined Once you put them on you don't take them off, why would you want to? I got my letters from Scott Winger, fellow club member, very high quality, nice thick metal.
I would post a pic of my mystic with the letters but I can't figure out how to attach it.

I had the SS inserts on my 01 cobra, they were nice, but needed to have some edges sanded a bit since the cuts had a few burrs on them. They looked great. I have bought a set of the Scott Winger letters. They are extremely nice, no burrs. Both used the 3M tape adhesive. Hint, trial fit the letters before removing the adhesive backing since you may need to bend them a bit to match the curvature of the bumper. Two other key thoughts, you will need to use wax remover on the bumper inside the embossed letter areas for the tape to adhear properly. Also you will need at least 3 days of 70 degree weather for them to set (recommened not to drive the car for that period). I have to wait for warmer weather so I can get mine on the 04.

HAHA! Thats for sure! I underestimated just how sticky those things were gonna be. I swear I didn't have it too close to the car and they just seemed to jump out of my hands and stick to my bumper. Mine aren't on exactly straight but unless I point it out, nobody notices. Make sure you have EXTRA patience when putting them on, once they are there, they aren't coming off.

Smile Emblem/Medallion

For the emblem check out http://www.mustangmedallions.com/
A lot more expensive than the standard, but well worth the extra cost!

I bought mine from SS inserts and they look great. They did'nt have any burs or need to be sanded and they fit great. I don't really like the thicker ones because they extend out past the indentions in the bumper. When you wash the car, your sponge will get caught on the edges of the letters.

How Can you put double sided tape on a car that you paid extra $ for the paint, the last I heard a quart of Mystichrome cost over $600.00 and it take 2 quarts to paint a Cobra!!! so to paint a Cobra in Mystichrome I've heard it cost a much as $4500.00. I would try the 3M Vinyl letters frist they cost $28.00 if you get tried of them peal them off. By the way great color!!!

That's why I have been hesitant to put them on.
