03 Cobra EGT's anyone know?

I am thinking of installing an EGT gauge, however I have no idea what the correct EGT's are supposed to be at any given point in the RPM range,

Does anyone know know for sure exactly what the EGT's for supercharged 03 SVT is supposed to be at either full power or other ranges ??

Hmmmm. I would say in the 1150-1250 range to be safe. If you going to install one you should do both left and right banks....

Let me ask you this why not go with a something like a dyojet wideband commander? for tuning purposes it's a lot more accurate. wideband 02's have pretty much replaced EGT gauges for tuning...

Say Davesnake,
When you say 1150-1250 do you mean at WOT? if so in which gear?
or under other throttle positions? So far I have been told to stay around 900-1000 just crusing down the interstate, one guy (not on this board) said up to 1500 is OK but that sounded way too dam high, he runs a Dyno shop and told me of a guy who came in with a turbo charged truck that was running a 1550 EGT with an air/fuel ratio of 11.4

so what do you think sir?

there is no way to stay @ 900* crusing down the interstate. Mine is around 1200* +/- 100* @ 80 mph. The highest temp was WOT run that I shut down @ 145mph, with EGT reaching 1400+ I was not going to take a chance.

The only way to measure your EGT's correctly is to have a probe for each cylinder...do you want to go though that expence? and another point I might bring up, how many tuners around the country use EGT's to tune.....I can't think of any. save you money and get a wideband.
