Struts and Shocks with H&R springs

I have a couple of questions concerning springs for the '03-'04 Cobra's.

If I was to put H&R SS or race springs on my car is there a need to change out the struts and shocks? Or is the stock bilsteins suffecient? Also am I better off going with the SS or the race springs?

Thanks for any help or suggestions, I might have to sell the coil overs that I have, to pay uncle sam

what are your intentions for the car?

-just to lower it for looks
-drag racing
-open tracking

do you want..

-a decent ride
-better handling vs a stiffer ride?

I would say, just of my own opinion, with the SS you can use the stock bilsteins, but with the Race, you should really step up to at least Cobra R spec bilsteins.

Well I want to lower it for a couple of reasons. One being for looks, but main reason being for performance. I don't really plan on taking it to any tracks, especially since we don't have one nearby. But I do like to drive those open country roads every once in awhile. I'm not to worried about ride quality, over performance or better handling.

well, the race perform better than the ss, but I personally would upgrade the shocks/struts to better bilsteins.

One thing you could do is put the race springs on, and if you notice the car underdampening, then you could upgrade the dampners.

I have used race H&R's with 03bilsteins on mine, and noticed they were straining.

Thanks Firme I think what I will do is get the SS and see how they perform. It's looking like I might not have to sell the coilovers. Paid 3/4 of taxes due and filed an extension. If I feel that I need better performance or handling then I can upgrade to the race and better struts/shocks. But it will take me longer to get them installed, I have to buy new springs, struts, and shocks for those also before I can put them on. I had them when I had the '01.
