Un-authorized use of email address
Dear fellow SCMC Members, guests, Vendors and other Associates:
I just wanted to let you all know that my email address has been used to send Spam mail as well as Virus infected mail to users/advertisers of this site. Please rest assured I have had NOTHING to do with this! It seems that my email address is being used as the "from" address to sent to other email addresses "scrubbed" from this site (including forums). At first I thought this was just one of those internet things, but I now see a pattern of SCMC Vendors and Members that the emails have been sent to (I get the returned email stating that it was undeliverable or contained a virus). Folks such as WMS, Brooks, Houston, etc. have been the first to been hit with these emails. The originating source of these emails are not from my service provider. The source has been identified as: IP Address: 66.152.8.120 Provider: btitelecom.net (now itcdeltacom.com) I have contacted my service provider as well as ITCDeltaCom to have this issue investigated and resolved. I personally apologize to anyone that has been infected. To those reading this, please make sure your Anti-Virus software is up-to-date. While I have no control over what is happening, I certainly can do what I can to warn everyone. Thank you for your understanding! Sincerely, Dave Diehl SCMC#350 Hyper-Performance Motorsports Inc.

Dave,
This problem is becoming more and more of a burden on us all. I get emails from one of my email addresses to the other with spam or potential viruses, and I know they are "spoofed". If your email gets exposure in cyber-space, nowadays, its almost gauranteed it will get spoofed. Quote:
this is GREAT ADVICE. Everyone should be doing this. Be very careful when opening emails with attachments.
