TWS Today

We all made it through a great day at the track. The Black 03 ran great, no heating issues and we pounded on them all day. I wore out a front set of pads down to the bare metal. Thank goodness my track monkies were with me, Brian and a freind of his. Those two had more fun getting rides from Andy and David, plus they changed the brakes and rotated the tires. I had a great time at this event. I instructed Nathanials from the track to get me bigger rotors and brakes and to set some time aside when they come in. Just need better tires that stick. Thanks to David and Andy for all there help and giving me some great tips and lessons. There were some really quick cars there today. Cant wait till October. May have to do MotorSport Ranch with Ed P in September as a warm up.

VGX made in Canada (street and strip performance pads) I think the problem was the motorcross at Stangband used them up more than I expected. I should have checked before I left, but they still were to soft for the track.

Hey, Carl what about your old buddy Hebel comin through with the back-up set of pads? I got dirty and everything!

My day was also excellent. New Brakes worked fine, after I got over some rotor hot spot issues. Tires were terrible. I bought hard tires for street use and they just chunked at the track. They actually got much better when it got really hot out.

I had a couple of close calls with all that traffic. A miata pulled directly in front of me pulling out of pit lane crossing the blend line (that may have caused my rotor issues). A BMW spilled gas all over the front of my car, and a 50th anniversery coervette........well you know.

And yes, my most excellent buddy Henry saved the day for me by providing a set of semi used pads that let me finish out the day, or I would have had to put the car back on the trailer or go to Bryan and find an Auto Parts Store. Thanks again Henry Tires and Brakes my lads is the key with a lot of track hours. Some of those guys on the track were pretty serious and would just about run over you if you were not careful. But that is a good thing to experiance all kinds of driver levels so you know how to handle those occassions.
